Former Polish President Aleksander Kwasniewski said that Ukraine should not dream of joining NATO.

It is reported Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung.

"Ukraine should abandon their dream to become a member of NATO. Nor should now talk about the goal to become a full member of the EU " - said the former president of Poland.

Thus he Kwasniewski, he said, "nothing against targets Kyiv ever become a full member of NATO ".

Kwasniewski, speaking on behalf Koerber Foundation event in Warsaw, expressed concerns about the security of their country, the Baltic states and Moldova.
Also, Kwasniewski said that the situation in the region is the least safe for 17 years, ever since Poland joined NATO.

This situation, according to the former president of Poland, formed by high activity of Russian military in the region, especially near the borders of Estonia and Latvia, in addition, in the vicinity of Moldova.

He also said that after learning of near eastern borders of NATO should rely on the fact that during the summit of NATO on 8 and 9 July in Warsaw will be decided to strengthen its military presence in Poland and the Baltic States .

In this case, Kwasniewski stressed that the continued presence of NATO troops on a large scale in the region will be planned, as this would be contrary to obligations 'Liabilities concluded in 1997 agreement between NATO and Russia.
