Today, Saturday, July 2, effective solution to extend EU sanctions against Russia for six months. The text of the decision published in the Official Journal of the European Union.

July 1, the Council extended the economic sanctions against Russia for another six months - until January 31, 2017. "1 July 2016, the Council renewed the economic sanctions against certain sectors of the Russian economy to January 31, 2017 " - said in a statement.

It is known sanctions against Russia were imposed July 31, 2014 through the annexation of the Crimea and were reinforced in September 2014. 9 March 2015 the European Council decided to called 'yazaty duration of sanctions with full implementation of the Minsk agreements.

After the annexation of Crimea and the beginning of the armed conflict in the Donbass US, the EU and several countries in stages to Russia applied economic sanctions. In recent months, some European politicians began to discuss the possibility of easing or lifting.

June 17, the Council extended sanctions against occupied Crimea for 12 months. Sanctions related ban on imports into the EU of goods from the Crimea and Sevastopol, investment in the occupied peninsula and the export of certain goods and technologies in the Crimea.
