The European Investment Bank will provide Ukraine 200 million euros to finance public transport in 20 municipalities in Ukraine.
This was reported on the bank's website.
The decision on allocation of funds was made on 23 September. The total project cost is estimated at 400 million euros.
The EIB believe that the financing of this project is to increase the frequency and regularity of public transport in medium-sized cities in Ukraine, which has a positive effect on the economy of these cities. In addition, these funds are intended to reduce emissions by switching to electric, which also have a positive impact on the economy.
